Fanmail #16

From sakura-soldier via Tumblr: Mentors from the 125th Games, I'll repeat it again here for your sake: If you have the opportunity to play stylists and give your escort a full makeover on them either to improve their looks/fashion/style, make them prettier/handsome, or make them uglier as revenge (you can change hairstyles/hair colour, eye colour, skin colour, add/remove alterations, and create outfits+accessories), what should they look like? Escorts must give critiques and pick whose makeover they like best. The following Capitolites (Lux, Cupid, Piccolo, Viola, Saxon, Emmet, Benjamin, and the Demetriou kids as one entity) must also do this, but just pick any escort you want.
---
(Note: These answers take place before the Games begin, because that's when I started answering them. I'm sorry it took so long T.T)
District 1
Blessing: I would probably... Just... Change... Everything. I would change everything. I'm not exactly a huge pink-lover. Who cares if she has Fuchsia in her name? I would probably make her skin, hair, and eyes their natural color. As for an outfit, I would go for something sophisticated: a suit with a pencil skirt, black, and a white blouse. Black glasses instead of pink as well. I want to go for a refined, business-style look. Not... Whatever she's got going on. I love her but... Yikes.
Cartier: For Namibia... I would... I would want her to keep the pink, but accent it with other colors. Pink and gray is a good combination, perhaps with some yellow? I'm not exactly fashionable. As for an outfit, maybe a floral dress and a leather jacket with boots? Gold accessories? I have no idea.
Lux: Alright, I'll jump in here. I can see Namibia being a beauty in gold. Metallic colors are really in nowadays, I think. I would dye her hair silver, probably the color it is naturally, and work off of that. I imagine some bright pink on her dark complexion would really pop, if you take all the fuchsia off of her skin. I would dress her in a nice white dress shirt, black tie, and a gold jacket dear Lord I'm dressing her like my mother. Shit. Welp. Never mind. I will just... Stop talking now.
Namibia: Critique time! Alright, Blessing first. I can't believe you would take my pink from me, all of you! Blessing, I don't think I need to be all bland, boring, and business! Cartier, yours is better, but still not up to par with my beautiful fuchsia outfit. I like some of your ideas, but there is no better accent for my favorite color than more of my favorite color! Lux, with all due respect, not my style. I love your mother, but could not pull off that look, nor would I want to. Also, how dare you say my hair would be silver!
.

District 2
Nona: Well, it's really not all that possible to make her any more boring than she already is. Now, I like some of the Capitol trends, but like normal-looking people are definitely better. For Cerena, I would spruce up her hair a bit, maybe give her a sleek look with a blonde stripe in her hair. I would probably do some more make-up on her to make her glowing and looking younger, nothing too colored and cake-y. I would style her hair in an updo with some kind of colorful accessory to add some interest to her funeral clothes. Maybe if she looked more exciting she'd fit the role more.
Vesperus: I like Cerena just the way she is. Maybe I would have her dress slightly more youthfully. She dresses like a Grandma, and that makes her look like one. She could definitely pass for being at least five years younger than she is if she wore the right ensemble. Some of the red and gold kimono-type clothes she wore in her youth would add some of that youth. Bright colors and maybe high heels too. I think that leaving her hair down and curling it into waves would also help her look more youthful. I agree with what Nona said about the make-up too.
Saxon: I think that it's appropriate for her to dress differently with age. I would probably keep her style very similar to the way it is today. I am always a fan of golden accents, as Cerena was in her youth. I would probably accessorize her with a golden necklace and a golden hairpiece at least. I would keep her more mature black gowns because I think they suit her. Maybe some styles with her hair would be a touch to change.
Cerena: I respect Saxon's choices, I did enjoy golden accents, but as I've gotten older I've realized that it is not right to waste money on such frivolous things, even if I am escorting for District 2. Nona and Vesperus, first off I'm quite surprised that you agree so much. I find it flattering that you think I could look young, but the truth is that I don't want to look any younger than I am. I am not afraid of young age.
.

District 3
Ellie: Alanena is a nice girl. I am a conservative kind of person, though, so I would try to make her look a bit more like a human. I would make her skin a normal color and take her hair back to a normal color. I'm not sure what color it is naturally, but I think that blonde would work well for her. Blue eyes and clothing are alright with me, though. I would probably put her in a blue gown that covers her legs. I do like her different hairstyles, though, I think they're nice.
Tav: I think that the different trends are really cool! I would probably have her hair be multiple shades of blue, lighter and darker. I agree that modest is probably best for having an escort job, though. I would keep her in blue and silver, I can see her in a really pretty princess gown that's dark blue and maybe a blue-silver tiara to go with her ensemble. That would be nice. The blue shoes and accessories can stay as well.
Piccolo: Alanena is great! I prefer leaving the hair down to putting it up, but she looks beautiful with whatever ensemble she has. I would probably make her hair darker navy and maybe add some sparkles. I know that the night sky style is slightly outdated, but I think it would look amazing on her! I can see her in a really space-y look, with a gown that has a skirt that is constellations and maybe some planet accessories! That'd be really cool!
Alanena: Ellie's is definitely the least my style. Sorry Ellie, nothing against you! I just like to stick out, and I love my blue hair and skin! Tav, I really like yours I like the idea of blue and silver, I think that's a great combination. And I definitely intend on dying my hair darker blue someday because I think it will definitely bring out my face and the blue in my skin. I do like my short skirts, but I'm not opposed to gowns! Piccolo, I think that the night sky look is definitely outdated, ugh, so forty years ago, but I think that an observatory-type look may be a good way to make vintage new again! Maybe I'll consider trying it someday!
.
District 4
Michael: Blushina... *laughs* To be serious or not serious? First, I would give her a green military outfit. Y'know, a nice suit and tie and jacket and pants and boots. And a hat with a gold star badge on it. Oh, and a baton. And you know that hair has to be back in a tight bun. Really gives her that nice drill sergeant look.
Tartan: You bitch! You stole my idea!
Michael: Sorry not sorry. But also, just kidding. Love you Blushina!
Port: I'm not very good at this because I would probably just make her look like a normal District Four girl. Tan skin, bronze hair, shoulder-length, maybe pulled back, green eyes. *shrugs* I know nothing about fashion. I guess she can wear blue if she wants?
Blushina: You are both terrible at this game. I abstain from choosing. *laughs*
.
District 5
Kelly: For Maxim... Gosh, I don't even know where to start. I like the idea of just making him look like a normal human being. Just his natural complexion and hair color and eye color sounds fine to me. Maybe with a simple black suit and without his scepter. Maybe he can wear sunglasses sometimes, but... Yeah. Maybe that would make him less intimidating.
Tim: I think that the rainbow Afro's actually pretty fun. If anything I think it's just his sheer height that intimidates me. So I would probably keep the Afro and make him shorter somehow, if at all possible short of surgery. (Ha, short, get it?) I would also take off his sunglasses, they make him come across as more... Approachable. I like Maxim, but he often intimidates the tributes. So... Probably no dragon-headed scepter either. I mean, it's cool, but it freaks out the tributes. I like to be as welcoming as possible in their time of grief. That's really all I've got.
Maxim: Oh... I see. Well, I like my own style just how it is. I really don't want to make it any different than it is! I guess if I had to die or choose I would go with Tim's just because it involves less change. But I doubt I will change my style any time soon, unless it's on my own terms.
.

District 6
Anatoly: For Jovia... I would... I don't know shit about fashion. I mean, she's already a million times more fashionable than I am, so... I don't know. I mean, it would be cool to see her in a different color than her usual fuscia, just for variety's sake. Like, something totally different. Like black. Wow, that would certainly be different. I'll make her into a goth queen. Black hair, black lipstick, and she can keep the fuscia eyes. And a raven. Yeah, a pet raven. *laughs* Totally different from her now.
Gian: That seems... A little extreme. If you want to do something drastic,I'd say do something less, um, extreme. Like, maybe, just cut her hair into a short, fashionable bob, and take some of the wave out. Maybe change her outfit to something less monochromatic, perhaps a multicolor, floral top, a leather jacket, and a pair of dark jeans? I don't know, I'm not all that fashionably savvy. Maybe I'd just say fuck it and put her in a giant coffee cup. There's nothing more attractive than coffee.
Viola: Now here's a fun opportunity! I would love to give anyone a make-over, especially someone great like Jovia! She's already so gorgeous, honestly. She seems like the kind of person that is naturally beautiful. I would bring out her natural beauty with some really subtle make-up and keep her gorgeous hair exactly how it is. Maybe I'd try putting it up in some new kind of way. I would dress her in something really beautiful, an elegant gown or something, a different color than her usual pearly style. Maybe I'd pick a dark royal blue, or a cobalt color.
Jovia: Well, you all have some creative ideas. *giggles* I think that it'd be funny if I were a giant coffee cup! Although anything dark and goth really isn't my style, Anatoly! That would just be the total opposite of my name, of course! And that wouldn't be me at all! I like Viola's idea, royal blue is such a good color honestly and I bet I'd look good in it! As for cutting my hair, it is something I would look into someday! After all, hair always grows back and if I hate it I could use extensions! Maybe I'll change up my look next year!
.

District 7
Helen: I wouldn't change a thing!~
Anakyn: That's a cop-out and you know it. *blushes* C-C'mon. There's gotta be something you would change. You... Wouldn't you want me to look more like a District person?
Helen: Hm.... No. I like you just how you look. Final answer!
Kendal: There's not much I would change. I've always been forward thinking and believe that you should do your own style. So if Anakyn likes his style, so do I.
Trixie:Cop-out!! If I had to choose for Anicat I would try something new and fun! His hair looks natural which is fine but boring! So I'd dye it... Blue! And his punk style is cool but it is kind of intimidating, so I would put him in clothes that are furry and fuzzy and soft. And purple! And... I would put him in parachute pants! Because the only person I know that can bring back parachute pants is Anakyn! Yeah!
Anakyn: I... Thanks Helen!! And thanks Kendal, too. I appreciate you guys so much... And Trixie... *small snicker* That's way too outlandish for me. But I'll consider trying to bring parachute pants back someday, just for you.
.
District 8
Anthony: For Bonita...? Um... I don't know. I don't want to say anything for fear of her wrath. I mean, I've never really been a face tattoo person, so I would take off the butterfly tattoo. She has a simple style, which someone like me from District Eight appreciates. I would even simplify her floral style with some simpler patterns like solid colors.
Tartan: What Anthony is trying to say is that he's too big of a coward to say any shit about Bonita to her face. Honestly, she doesn't scare me at all. She just pretends to be intimidating and treats all of us like shit. So I say, we bleach her hair. Bleach it over and over again until it's white and falling out and sticks out everywhere. Then, I would take away her beloved Botox, really let those wrinkles come out. While we're at it, let's take away her nail clippers and her personal manicure assistant. Let those babies grow out to their full potential. Bam! Old woman from the sewer look.
Bonita: Tartan you are such a piece of shit!! You and your grimy District have done nothing to deserve my respect and I will never be caught babying teenagers that are going to fight and die. Obviously I prefer Ant's, but even he's shitting on my style. District rats don't even understand good fashion.
.

District 9
Vale: I'm not great at fashion and Demetrius hasn't been very nice to my tributes so I'll just say let's take away all his pretty little dyes and alterations and let him be exactly how he is. Now throw him in a typical District Nine life, where you can't have a constant supply of toothpaste and can't bathe every day, where there are no nail clippers and there is a severe shortage of soap, and of food, and let's see how he does then. That's what I would do.
Prentice: I was going to make him into a lobster man but Vale that's a much better idea. You know, just put him in the tanning booth for too long so he gets sunburn, then slap come claws on his hands so he can't reach in the bowl and pick out any more of our Districts' citizens to die. Throw some butter at him and cook him when finished. Voila!
Emmet: Wow, you guys are rough. I don't think he seems so bad, and I like his mom, so I'll go a bit easier. I think that his... appreciation for the Quell twist was a bit overboard, so I would subdue that. But a guy wearing pink is always a power move for me so I would let him continue his pink and red style, maybe not with any top hats though. I like his pink hair and would keep it like that, maybe a shade or two darker because I'm more of a dark pink guy myself. And add some cool colors to contrast with his bright, warm palette, like purple and blue-violet.
Demetrius: *rolls eyes* Real classy Vale and Prentice. I'm so glad to have mentors that respect and appreciate their new escort. *scowls* Also Em, I think my acceptance of the Quell twist was the perfect touch for the reaping and I stand by it. Purple though... I would consider. Obviously I choose Em's, because at least that guy has a head on his shoulders.
.

District 10
Roxanne: Unpopular opinion but I've never been into guys with long hair. So I would chop all that hair off and give him a much cleaner style. I mean, I don't like Capitolites either, so fuck it, I would take out all that dye, the contacts, all of it. Charlemagne is obnoxious but he cares. If he'd just lose all the Capitolite the guy would be alright. So this is the first step in that process. Bam. Short hair, no dye, no contacts.
Arthur: Well, considering he's my boyfriend's brother-in-law, I don't have much I would change, haha. I'm sure you understand why I can't just... Y'know. Talk about that.
Roxanne: Coward's way out!
Arthur: *flushes* Oh, shush. I need him and Jingle to be in a good mood with me and Caspar right now. For very important reasons.
Cupid: Alright, let's see. Well, I'll start with the bowties. They're a good signature, very cute. I would leave them, maybe add some to the collection that are really strange-looking like a wooden bowtie. Y'know, change it up a bit. The green and blue is nice, but I would add some vibrant colors, maybe some yellow and red- wait, that would make him look like a parrot. okay, just red. Red and blue maybe. No, too Spider Man... Alright, blue and green is just fine. Maybe some red in the outfit, though. Vibrant colors make you younger after all! I would definitely style it differently each day, though. There are so many things you can do with long hair! Bun, ponytail, updo, half updo, anything really.
Charlemagne: Roxanne... I think that's probably the nicest thing you've ever said about me. Thank you. I try to be the best I can. Arthur, you know you couldn't possibly get on my bad side by changing something about my appearance. I'm not that shallow surely. As long as you're treating Valenty how he should be, Jingle and I will always be fond of you and Caspar. Cupid, I like your ideas, they are very interesting. I should try to be a little more outgoing, I suppose I've mellowed out with age. I'll have to give those things a try.
.
District 11
Skeeter: Bonaventure is such a character. *sighs* From what I've seen and heard he used to have a much crazier style and has actually pulled back recently. Obviously he still looks like a Capitolite so I would always have a problem with his look. Just stop dying yourself man. Wear normal clothes that don't revolve around a color palette. In the Districts we don't pay attention to the color of anything, we wear whatever the hell we can get. That would really separate him from the Capitol, but you can't really do that to be an escort.
Chervil: Skeeter hit it. Although I don't think I could imagine Bonaventure without that color palette though. It would take a lot of getting used to. I like his little pops of color, that's actually a very District style because we don't have a lot of things that are colorful so when we do, it's a single pop of color. So I like that.
Benjamin: Honestly, I like his style. It's simple for a Capitolite, and I'm a big fan of simple. Not too out there, just right. I think that's the way to go. That's what I try to do too. The white is kind of striking, and prefer darker colors, so I would just do a mostly black, gray, and darker red style if it were me personally.
Bonaventure: These are interesting ideas and I appreciate them. I try to keep my style very simple and refined, and if I went any simpler I probably would not be very attractive to the crowd and would have to step down as an escort.
.
District 12
Allegra: A-Ambrose! Um... I would... I don't know! They have such a chic and cool punk-ish style... I-I'm not on their level... They also intimidate me a lot so I don't really want to pick apart their appearance, because that's what a lot of Capitolites care about the most... So I think it's great! Just how it is!
Braelyn: I'm getting older and the older I get, the less I understand the youth, especially Capitol youth. I'm not as big a fan as the buzzcut as you would expect, especially dyed. The white coat doesn't really do a great job in District Twelve, where everything is covered in coal dust. If they were escorting for District 12, I would suggest a darker outfit, black or charcoal for sure. You gotta dress for your District. I envy their make-up skills however.
Ambrose: I can respect that. Well, obviously I like my style (and so does Thorlief fucking Nazario!) so I am not gonna do anything to change it at all. So obviously I would choose Allegra's lack of suggestion over Braelyn's lack of knowledge about fashion. Brae, if you want, I would totally do make-up for you in the future though. How you like it, don't worry. I promise.
